It’s about that time. Time to dress up for Halloween!!!! I love Halloween. It is, perhaps, my favorite holiday of all because I get to dress up and be creative! I love everything about halloween from the sweet treats, the decorating, and the fun crafts to the elaborate makeup and fun, themed costumes.

As a part of the Walmart Moms, I was asked to check out the costume selection at my local store. So with the gift card provided, I went in search of the perfect costumes for our family at Walmart. A tradition my family and I have is that we like to all dress up for Halloween with the same theme in mind. One year it was super heroes while another year was the Cat in the Hat. We didn’t have a theme in mind when we went to our local Walmart. So I had the boys begin picking out costumes that they liked: Sheriff Woody from Toy Story, Superman, and a Ninja were just a few. This gave me some ideas on what theme to choose for the entire family.

Then my youngest picked out a very detailed Pirate costume that was perfect! So, we searched for a costume older brother could wear and found a great complimenting costume for him. With both kidlets pirate costumes choosen it was onto something Mom could wear. I found a rhinestone eye patch and skeleton bandana that would go perfectly with a pair of skull leggings and hole knit sweater that I purchased on my own several weeks earlier (that are also from Walmart). Our outfits are almost complete!

With our costume choices and accessories all picked out it was on to figuring out what kind of makeup we were going to do to pull the look together. Instead of purchasing additional halloween makeup, I just used what I already had on hand at home. For the boys, all I needed was some black eyeliner. They both wanted beards and mustaches. Look at how handsome they look!

For me, I drew stitches across my cheek with black eyeliner and smudged brown eyeshadow randomly to give the appearance of “dirt”. For my lips, I lined them with black eyeliner then used a dark pink eyeshadow to fill them in since I didn’t have any red lipstick on hand.

While browsing for accessories for our costumes, I came across a pirate dog costume that I thought my little yorkie would look perfect in! He is a part of the family, after all. Isn’t he just adorable!?!?! He would definitely make the perfect shipmate.
