If you follow me on Instagram, you already saw that earlier in the week I’ve been working on getting some swatches of this gorgeous palette for you guys. I’ve been eyeing this palette for a while now but was waiting for a good sale. As soon as it arrived, I wanted to swatch it right away. But I resisted the temptation so I could take some clear photos to show you all just how beautiful it is in person.

There is lots of buzz in the beauty world around eye shadow palettes and for good reason. There is often a beautiful array of complimenting colors in a single, easy to store package. Many different looks can be achieved with just one palette. Also, I believe that eye shadow palettes are also a budget saver. If I were to purchase each individual color in a single pan it would be way more than the cost of an eye shadow palette. So when it comes to purchasing eye shadows, 9/10 I’ll go with a palette instead. The key to finding that perfect eye shadow palette is to purchase one that has many of the colors that you already gravitate towards. If you never wear hot pink or neon green, then don’t go for the more colorful palettes and stick with neutrals. Neutrals work on everyone. They can be dramatic or more subtle. I’ve had my first eye shadow palette for some years. Eye shadow palettes definitely last a long while as a little of a pigmented color goes a long way.

Ok, enough of the perks of eye shadow palettes. I know why you are all here and that’s too find out more about the Revealed palette by Coastal Scents. First, let’s start with the packaging. It is so cute! I love the design of the package and how sleek it is. It is actually slimmer than the Beijing Go Palette I told you guys about earlier. This slim palette is long with 10 eye shadows on the top and 10 eye shadows on the bottom row. Some may dislike that this palette does not come with a mirror or any of those tiny sponge tipped applicators. I, on the other hand, prefer it! I never use the mirror inside of a palette to apply my eye makeup, instead I use a large table top mirror. I use my own brushes because it makes applying eye shadow so much easier. I’ve never been able to apply eye shadow with a sponge tip applicator correctly, anyhow.

On to color, beauty blogs are buzzing that this is a dupe for not one but two high-end eye shadow palettes. I just can’t bring myself to splurge on high-end makeup knowing that similar products are available at the drugstore or online for a fraction of the cost. Since I’ve never tried the high-end products I can’t really say whether they are a dupe or not so I’ll just stick to what I know and these shadows in one word are….GORGEOUS! I’m typically not a sparkly, shimmery kind of gal when it comes to eye shadows. Which may come as a shock if you’ve been reading my blog for a while as I love me some bling. But for eye shadows it’s a different story. I typically like to stick with matte shades because I think they just look prettier on the eye and are a bit easier to apply (i.e. less fall-out and messy). So if you like all matte shades this palette may not be for you. I’m going a little outside my comfort zone trying out this palette and one thing that really stuck out at me is how buttery soft these shadows are. They literally just glide onto the skin and are very nicely pigmented. The Revealed palette has a good mix of matte, satin, and shimmer shades with fewer matte than satin and shimmer. One can create a variety of different looks and it can be worn for day or night. They are just beautiful!

The only tip I have for this palette is to keep the shimmery, sparkly shades on the lid and use a matte in the crease. I still need a bit more time to play with this palette before showing some how-to looks. If you have this palette, I’d love to see some of your beauty looks! On Instagram, I started the hashtag #beautymomstyle for Mom’s to show off their Beauty/Style, so feel free to tag your own makeup looks, drugstore beauty finds, outfits of the day, or whatever you’d like to share that makes you feel beautiful! Am I the only one with a makeup obsession? Show off your makeup collection or holy grail products that you just can’t live without. I’d love to check them out!!!!

What do you think of this new eye shadow palette? Do you think it’s close to the high-end palette? What are your thoughts?
