This past weekend I went on a cleaning frenzy in my home office. Hubby and I rearranged the entire room. I am so in love with the new layout of this space. It’s simply beautiful. Amongst the tidying however I had a moment. You know those kinds of moments where you think to yourself…”now why didn’t I think of this sooner?1?!?!”
Some of you may know, the area where I apply my makeup is adjacent to my computer desk. We have small bathrooms in my house with no counter space to speak of. My dresser in my bedroom has such horrible lighting that applying makeup in there isn’t ideal either. So, when I apply makeup I do it in my home office. Well, for the longest time now I’ve tried out all sorts of makeup brush holder solutions to contain the makeup brushes that I use daily. As I was cleaning, I found an old office supply container that I’ve had for years. It is specifically made to sit in the corner of a desk with 4 separate compartments to hold pens, pencils, etc. As I was trying to figure out what to do with it, since I don’t need a huge container for a couple of pens to sit on my desk, it dawned on me. MAKEUP BRUSHES! It’s perfect!
Instead of cramming all of my makeup brushes into a coffee cup like I was using with several other smaller containers all around it. I can now combine it all into a simple corner holder. You’ll see in the photo above, I have makeup brushes on one side, eyeliner pencils on the other, and other small beauty brushes and tools in the larger center.
So in short, I just wanted to pass this fun little beauty product organizational tip along that seems to be working out well for me. One could also fill the bottom of the organizer with vase filler or aquarium rocks to make the brushes stand up more easily.
